The Trellick Tower Residents Association have partnered with the Bartlett School for Planning and the Museum of London to co-produce a Community Plan for Trellick and Cheltenham Estate.
The plan needs you to make it as strong and effective as possible in offering protection against harmful development and direction toward healthy and wanted development.
Read on to see how you can get involved. Be a part of the community protection and direction of Trellick and Cheltenham Estate.
What is happening?
A project has been put together to respond to the ongoing concerns around development at Trellick.
The name of the project is ‘Develop Trellick?’
It follows on from a community event held last year at Morley College, to ask what local people felt about development of Trellick and the Cheltenham Estate. That event was part of our celebration of fifty years of Trellick and part of a campaign that stopped a previous development attempt from the local council.
You can read a full report on that here:
What was clear from the discussion, is that people were not against development.
People want their/our spaces maintained, improved and….developed. But, there are very strong and very many experiences, feelings and views about the way development is done.
The communities of Trellick and Cheltenham need to find ways to protect the area from the type of development that is blighting many parts of London and beyond, and enhance the brilliance that we have within and around our spaces.
As a result, the TTRA connected with Professor Pablo Sendra at the Bartlett School for Planning, UCL, and the Museum of London, to plan a follow up that could produce a brief for development - A Community Plan for Trellick and Cheltenham.
What next?
